In honour of Ghanaian Independence earlier this week, we’d like to feature a brand that celebrates African culture. African prints have been poppin’ since the beginning of time and one brand in particular that showcases its versatility, is Mojo Kojo.
Since its creation by Koye Adesanya back in 2015, Mojo Kojo has been leaving its imprint all over the UK, with their hand made pieces. Spotted on the likes of R& B singer Tiana Major and blogger TheSlumflower, this brand is one to watch!
Their signature “Salassies”, had everyone coveting after them all summer ’16. These bold print, comfy fit trousers can be worn with anything. From a crop top, a T-Shirt or even in replacement of a pair of bikini bottoms. Whether you like slim or oversized fits, they are an essential addition to your wardrobe from the spring and summer months.
If you’re anything like us, you’ll love a two-piece. Mojo Kojo has taken the world of Co-ords by storm. Bringing us the most fun and daring prints, their shirts and shorts are a must for summer swag.
Festival Goers; we’d recommend getting your hands one of their bum bags as soon as you can, before they all sell out this summer, like they did last year.
Last summer, Mojo Kojo announced their collaboration with Urban Outfitters for a 1000 piece menswear collection. This was clearly a testament to their hard work and appreciation of their unique designs and to top it all off, every single item was all made in Nigeria! This year has started off with a bang for the Mojo Kojo team; as they recently announced their partnership with Urban Outfitters will be continuing for a third collection. Judging from the sample shots the team released on Instagram, it’s due to be straight fire!
With summer fast approaching, we can’t wait to see what other patterns and garms this brand will be bringing our way. We’d love to see them hold another pop-up shop and possibly some hoodies and jumpers for AW18 .
Mojo Kojo is definitely a brand to keep on your radar and we wish the the absolute best of luck for this year!
