[Stream x Review] Moelogo – Magic EP

Fans of the afrobeats, by now should be well acquainted with the artist known as Moelogo. The all-round talented London based Nigerian artist with vocals that will make you feel good and has seen it take him to huge stages! If you’ve ever pondered what inspired his name, the famous line ‘My name na Mohammed, Music is my Logo’ says enough.

He’s had success thus far, he headlined his very own show at Islington’s 02 Academy. He has collaborated with accomplished artists such as Adekunle Gold on the song ‘Happy’ and ‘The baddest’ featuring the Landlord himself, Giggs which is an anthem many cant forget.

However, he released his latest EP titled Magic, which has continued to bring joy to those listening to it.

As a creative individual you can count on his music to gage your inner thoughts and provoke some type of emotion. Magic does just that! The 8 track EP is somewhat split into two parts, the first few songs Moelogo takes you on a journey of self-evaluation, a real depiction of a young man’s journey of self-discovery in an industry that can often be discouraging .

His wording throughout the EP, the delivery of his messaging is one of gratitude, it is very organic. Very encouraging, emotive and extremely relatable. Refreshingly honest, rather than it being based on individuals’ showreel. The melodies and beat are dramatised following suite with the tones of the messages.

The 2nd part of the EP is energetic,  the songs encompass the feel good sounds and rhythms which captures the essence of what afrobeats represents. Love themed songs such as ‘All about You’ and ‘Heard You Say’ are dope summer tunes.

I thoroughly enjoyed this EP enjoy the listen. The music is cohesive, composed in two tales, one of gratitude and the other will make you catch a vibe! Extremely relatable and inspiring and earned itself 5/5 Certified Stamps
